Doan, the owner, arrived in Sydney as an international student. With a background in both studying and working in cafes and restaurants, he discovered his passion for cooking. Despite holding a master’s degree in financial management, Doan’s love for the culinary arts led him to pursue a career as a chef.
In 2016, he became the head chef at West Juliette, a well-known café in Marrickville. His talent was soon recognized, and in 2017, he moved to Luxe, where a regional journalist praised his culinary creations, and his name appeared in the Daily Telegraph.
In early 2019, Doan relocated to Brisbane, where in 2020, he started a food stall at the Sunday Woodridge market, offering Pho and Vietnamese coffee. Since then, his business has flourished. Today, his Asian Snacks Catering Food Truck marks the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey, thriving in the catering industry with a diverse menu that spans both Asian and Western cuisines. The offerings are not only delicious but also affordably priced, meeting the varied needs of his customers.
Doan also briefly ran a small café in West End, which was highly praised by customers. In nearly one year, the café received almost 100 five-star reviews, with not a single review below five stars. Today, Doan leads a strong team, and his business has expanded to include a venue where up to 250 guests can be catered for. Plans are underway to open more cafés and kitchens across Brisbane, furthering the growth of his business.
